We have been retained by a Anchorage based publicly traded company who is looking to hire an Assistant Controller.

Job Description:

Purpose of Position: Manage the General Ledger group to include the internal financial
reporting process and the external audit process.

Manage month-end process to ensure accuracy and
timeliness of internal financial reporting

manage and review work of Accounting Supervisors and Managers. Manage external audit
Internal Control Considerations, Oracle system General Ledger module Superuser profile, oversee the maintenance of the chart of accounts in accordance with the Chart of Accounts
Procedure; prepare and maintain FSGs in accordance with the FSG Procedure; manage the monthly GL close and internal financial statement preparation; participate in the preparation of the Form 10-Q and Form 10-K financial statements and footnotes. Support the Controller to ensure appropriate accounting policies and procedures are employed for the General Ledger group and are followed by yourself and your direct reports.



Job Qualifications:

Public accounting experience is preferred. Five years of managing a staff of
three or more professionals.
Level of Education required to meet minimum qualifications: BA/BS degree in
Accounting or related major.
Certified Public Accountant highly preferred.
Technical knowledge of accounting procedures and solid
understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), strong analytical and problem solving skills, experience using Accounting software, in particular Oracle, preferred, strong organizational and time management skills. Must have excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
